Windows XPe optimized by Thinix.

The HDTV-Link system allows a Thinix TS-1200 XPe to be connected to most HDTVs (High Definition Televisions, call to find out the compatibility of your HDTV) which have SVGA inputs. This makes your Thinix computer ideal for conference room applications. The system includes an RF wireless keyboard with integrated touchpad (mouse).

Our design goal is to provide clients with an easy to use, ultra-reliable computer which is secure and requires little maintenance. The TS-1200 XPe is factory-shipped with the XPe operating system locked down, preventing your end-users from accidentally or intentionally misconfiguring the system. The configuration also prevents viruses, spyware and unauthorized software from being installed to any machine.

Not all Windows XP Embedded systems are alike.

The primary difference between Windows XP and Windows XPe is that Windows XPe is installed with ‘components’. There are approximately 12,000 different components, meaning that Windows XPe has been developed with the embedded (function-specific) market in mind. When XPe systems are developed they can be configured using thousands of different combinations of these components and third party applications. Therefore, the problem with simply saying that the system uses Windows XPe, is that consumers may not be aware that XPe systems from different vendors can vary widely. We have done considerable engineering, research and testing to ensure that our Thinix deployment of Windows XPe is perfectly suited to the needs of education facilities.

Security Features
Integrated Firewall
Windows Firewall is a protective boundary that monitors and restricts potentially dangerous information that travels between the machine and the network or the Internet.
Hardened Security Disposition
All unnecessary services are disabled by default, reducing the attack surface of the machine and improving resistance to security vulnerabilities.

Thinix Disk Protection
The Thinix Disk Protection running under XP Embedded prevents end users from writing data to the drive, whereas all data to be written is instead diverted to RAM. All the user’s confidential information is erased after every reboot.

Networking Features
Ethernet Support
Support for Wired 10/100 Ethernet using TCP/IP. Support for Wireless Ethernet using 802.11b/g is possible using optional wireless adaptor.
DHCP or static IP address assignment
Automatic Time Synchronization using NTP

Installed Applications
Internet Explorer 7.0 SP2 with Plugins
Internet Explorer 7 is the same browser that guests use at home and at the office. Preinstalled Plugins: Flash Player 10, Shockwave Player 11, QuickTime, RealPlayer, FoxIt PDF Reader, Citrix Web Client, Java 1.6, and Windows Media Player.
Windows Media Player 11
Windows Media Player 11 is the all-in-one media player that provides the best experience for discovering, playing, and taking your digital entertainment anywhere.
ThinkFree Office3
Open, edit and create Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint formatted files using ThinkFree Desktop office productivity suite. Users may also save office documents to their portable USB storage (thumb drive) or upload them to the Internet.
Instant Messaging Applications
All three primary instant messaging networks are supported with the inclusion of Windows Messenger, AOL Instant Messenger, and Yahoo Instant Messenger.
Utillities
Several standard Windows XP applications are installed, including Notepad, Wordpad, Calculator, Volume Control, and Paint.
Games
Several types of familiar games are included with Thinix Windows XPe, including FreeCell, Hearts, Minesweeper, Pinball, Solitaire, and Spider Solitaire. Users also have the ability to play Flash and Shockwave-based Internet games.
Citrix Client
Allows hotel guests to connect to Citrix™ servers at their office or also use Citrix GoToMyPC to connect to their home or office PC.
